Background |

Statutory inspection is one of the activities conducted by Sabah Labour Department to ensure employers fulfil their responsibilities in compliance with the provisions under the Labour laws especially the Labour Ordinance (Sabah Cap 67). Statutory inspection also involves inspection of documents concerning employment of employees and house accommodation provided by the employer. This is to ensure all facilities provided meet the required standard. |

1 |
Employer receives notice of statutory inspection and form JB1A-PIN 1/2000 from Labour Department ( 2 weeks) |

2 |
Employer completes form JB1A-PIN 1/2000 and ensure his presence during the inspection ( 1 day) |

|
3 |
Employer prepares all relevant documents related to the inspection ( as listed in the checklist). Employer submits Form JB1A-PIN 1/2000 to Labour Officer during the inspection. |

4 |
Officer carries out inspection and employer gives full cooperation during the inspection which includes answering all questions given. ( 2 hours) |

5 |
Employer permits Labor Officer to question employee representative / trade union representative. ( ½ hours) |
|

|
6 |
Receives and comply with the recommendation/instruction given by Labour Officer ( 1 week) |
|
|
|
7 |
Reports to Labour Department on the compliance of recommendation / instructions( 1 month). |
