(1) INTRODUCTION

One of the functions of the Department of Labour, Sabah is to carry out investigation and settlement of complaints received from employees. There are two categories of labour complaints.

(a) Complaint Case

Complaint cases in respect of contravention of the terms and conditions of employment which do not involve monetary claim such as dismissal from service leave, working time, victimization, employment of foreign workers and others.

(b) Claim Case.

Complaint cases which involve monetary claims such as wages, payment of salary indemnity in lieu of notice of termination of service, bonus, commission, termination benefits, increment, and the like.

(2) HANDLING OF COMPLAINT CASES.

(a)Checklist

(i)  Complainant must submit his employer's full address.

(ii) Copy of Appointment letter or Job Offer.

(iii) Copy of his Terms and Conditions of service or employment.

(iv) Other relevant document.

(3) HANDLING OF CLAIM CASE.

(a)Checklist
